Hey there. Carissa Kruse here. Hey, I am so excited. Today, I want to just talk about your why. And now, you might be saying like, “What are you talking about?” Well, I have found that if we nailed down our why in our business, it will help shine through in everything we do. So, what I mean is when we look at the why, why did you start your business? And, why did you start your wedding business? Why are you wanting to make X dollars of money? Why are you so passionate about helping these brides and couples? Just whatever that why is, I want you to keep asking why. So, it’s a really fun exercise to do. And every once in a while, I do it because things change. So for instance, why did you start your wedding business?
And then, I started my wedding business because I love helping brides and couples, and I love giving them that perfect day of what they’re looking for, just whatever it is. And then, why do you want to help those brides and couples? And then once you answer that, why do you want to do… You just keep drilling down with your why until you get… And, usually I say drill down like seven times-ish, somewhere in there. You can do more than that too, but the more deeper you get, the more you’ll uncover about yourself and why you are actually doing and building this awesome business. And maybe, it’s to be able to quit that 9-to-5 job. So, I’m creating this wedding business because I want to leave my 9-to-5 job.
Great. Why do you want to leave your 9-to-5 job? Because, I want to spend more time with my family. Well, why do I want to spend more time with my family? Because I want to see my kids, be at my kids events and help at their school. And, why do I want to do that? You just keep nailing down and you can do this several different times in several different aspects. And, it’s just a lot of fun because it really creates some clarity and gives you that deep down, kind of feeling of excitement and why you’re pushing to make your business successful, or to make and create this business of your dreams because of the certain aspects that you have deep down, that passion inside of you is what we really want to find, so that when your business hits a road bump, because it does happen, it happens all of us, you’ll be able to pull from that and be able to keep on going.
The thing that I hate the most is when I hear entrepreneurs and creatives in the wedding industry that are thinking of giving up, because if you created this and you just created a business, started a business, want to create a business, anybody can do it. So, I want to help instill into you how to do that. And, it’s not easy. And if it was easy, everybody would do it, that’s a phrase that I stick to and say a lot, but it’s so rewarding. And, the reward is just amazing. So once you get to that level, that everything starts to click and just goes, it’s just awesome. And, I want that for you. So, starting with this why exercise is just a fun, eye opening experience.
And so, if you’re kind of haven’t ever done it, I recommend doing it. And again, I usually do it like every quarter, just because it helps really get some clarity and like I said, things change and you why’s maybe changing as life events happen and stuff like that. So keep it relevant, and then you can actually put Post-it Notes or stickies by your computer too, of your why’s, which you can look at to help remind you. And again, if you have a tough client or a bride or you’ve hit a roadblock, look at that and you’ll know here’s why I’m doing what I’m doing. And, here’s why I’m going through this difficult situation at the time, but I’m going to get through it. It not going to be the end of the road for me and I’m going to keep moving forward.
